Holden took Tess Kirsch’s intensive class this past weekend. I can’t thank you enough for passing on the information about it. What an incredibly valuable weekend and time and money well spent from an acting development standpoint! Tess had sent out sides ahead of time and Holden got to work one on one with her in class. Tess sent along the tapes from both days along with commentary. I love that she connected with him, got to the root of what could help with connecting with the sides, and hopefully gave Holden some more knowledge on how to land some jobs. We were really surprised at how much time and energy Tess must have put in to evaluate Holden and put together such specific notes which we were able to review together. Tess clearly loves what she does and wants the kids to learn! I would highly recommend this class to anyone! Holden also mentioned that the CD’s comments were also on tape and helpful. This quick two day class fit perfectly with our schedule and we are hoping Tess will have another intensive class soon.

We adore Tess! I have to say how absolutely amazing she is with all ages of kids. I have 3 kids, ages 9-17 years and all have worked with Tess over the years. In fact, Tess is the reason my middle daughter booked Grey’s Anatomy a few years ago. My daughter had to cry at the audition and felt she did very well, but on the way home we got a call saying casting wanted to see her again, but she had to be able to cry quicker and more on command. I immediately called Tess and even though it was after 7pm she said she would meet us that night. She was amazing and figured out the trick for my daughter to make her cry…a trick that has worked time and time again over the years. Not only did she take time that night to work with my daughter, but she took time out of her busy schedule to be on set the day of filming the crying scene, in case my daughter needed her to get to that emotional state. Tess has always been more than accommodating with scheduling privates for my kids, and has often given up quality time with her own husband to make room for a last minute audition for one of my kids. She truly is an amazing asset to have in your corner of this crazy business they call “ Hollywood ”. She not only takes the time to coach the kids so that they know their lines and are ready with their sides, but she gets the kids emotionally ready for the actual audition as well. I think she is amazing and no matter what type of child you have and at what stage of their career your child may be, Tess is an asset for you to have. Young children, teenagers, and everything in between…she is a rare gem and you could only benefit from her help in your child’s future.

I have loved Tess since the very beginning. She has taught me everything I know about acting. She helped me so much in creating the back story for my character in a scene, how to build my “fourth wall” in a scene and I could just go on forever and ever. I knew since the first acting class that Tess was going to be my permanent acting coach. She was just so kind and helpful. If I didn’t get something the first, the second, or the tenth time, she would patient enough to keep trying to help me understand. Tess kept doing the same scene with me until I was a 100% comfortable with it, and I love that about her. Tess was so helpful to me that I started to take private lessons with her when I would have an audition. If I was auditioning for a certain role, she would have me do the character three different ways, in case the casting director wanted me to do the scene differently. Tess has helped me book a few jobs, many callbacks and even some character roles for theater. I want to keep continuing with her cause I strongly believe she is helping me achieve my number one goal in life – to become a famous actor. Tess is a caring, loving, helpful, friendly, and talented acting coach that knows how to help me show the best of myself in a scene.
