This six-week 2025 IN STUDIO on-camera session will begin with two weeks of studies in TV/FILM and how to approach our storytelling for these types of audition opportunities. We will then do our COLD READ/type day week 3, followed by two more weeks of work. We will end with our ZOOM BOOTCAMP SESSION with CD in week six.

Private 1-on-1 Coaching
Tess is available for private coaching for actors who are preparing for an important audition, working on their craft privately or for working actors who want coaching for an upcoming stage, film or television role. Tess also does tape for self-tape submissions as well as a new service called REMOTE TAPE. This service is offered to actors who wish to have their self-tapes (not previously taped/coached by Tess) reviewed before sending or retaping. The price for this service depends on the project and needs of actor. Pricing is as follows:
REMOTE TAPE - Review of self-tape only: $40 for up to 4 pages
Review of self-tape and FaceTime/zoom coaching: 1/2 hour: $75
1 hour: $150
******Discounted rate for those currently studying in one of Tess' classes: 100/hour
Coaching times: Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

INDIE FILM WEEKEND INTENSIVE - dates to be updated soon!
ASCF FILM CLUB and TKA studio announce a wonderfully creative collaboration - an on-set, 16 mm/35 mm weekend film intensive that includes both an acting class as well as an INDIE FILM SET EXPERIENCE. Actors will work on a real set with a real crew and receive an MPEG-4 copy of their professional FILM footage after its been edited (1 - 3 weeks after weekend intensive). Acting sessions are taught by Acting Coach Tess Kirsch and the set is directed by Jack Meggers and shot by seasoned filmmaker Thom Kuo and the wonderful Jessi Spickard.
How does it work?
Once you enroll, a staff writer will write a scene for you. We will then meet as a group on Friday night and Jessi will go over your call sheet. At your scheduled rehearsal time, Tess Kirsch will rehearse this scene with you (Friday night/Saturday morning). You will then shoot this scene in 16 mm/35 mm with Jack Meggers, Thom Kuo and Jessi Spickard. The shoot will be run as if you are truly on set and are working with a crew/cast. Jessi will also discuss the differences between shooting digitally and shooting on 16 mm/35 mm film.
***Film will then be edited and you will receive an MPEG-4 file or ProRes file if preferred
TYPE UP THAT POP UP - March 22, 2025
TYPE UP THAT POP UP
Casting Director Tineka Becker and I will be offering 1/2 hour sessions with actors on March 22, 2025 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tineka will be sending sides specifically for each actor for our session after reviewing your Actors Access profiles. Actors then come to the studio to work their "type" materials in a MOCK audition format.
TO SCHEDULE: Pay for the POP up class on Venmo (@tess-Kirsch) and I will then send the online calendar. The POP UP will be held from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Cost of POP UP Class: $75 per half hour - payable by Venmo only
The Art of the Self-tape - ONLINE 4-week June 2025 course - (Wednesdays)

We will be focusing on self-tapes as well as script breakdown. This is a FOUR-week course which will include the following:
2 weeks of self-tape on prepared work with a retake after notes. (ZOOM MEETING to go over script as well as questions)
1 week of type day work in groups of 2 on ZOOM
1 week of CD ZOOM BOOTCAMP session - all present for this (self tapes to be seen by CD)
Dates: 6/3, 6/10, 6/17 and 6/24 (CD zoom session)
HOURS: 9 am to 11 am PST
CLASS SIZE LIMITED TO 12 given ZOOM limitations. ALL MUST AGREE TO SHARE SELF-TAPES WITH OTHER CLASS MEMBERS FOR LEARNING PURPOSES.
